In the Sandals resort Negril, the Sandals brand sets the stage for the amazing experience you will have here. This was our third visit to a Sandals resort, and we had the most amazing stay. It is also fun and interesting for us to compare the different resorts, as they are so similar yet different from each other.
TRAVEL & TRANSIT
Arriving in Montego Bay is very easy, and to make the immigration/customs processing even easier, you can purchase Club Mobay access. It is a VIP service that facilitates both arrivals as well as departures. We did not book this service and despite this, it went very smoothly. After clearing customs, we proceeded to the Sandals’ arrival lounge. We were invited to have a cold drink & a snack, and before we knew it, we headed to the bus for the transfer to the resort which takes about 1-1.5 hrs, and the driver did a pitstop for refreshments…
THE RESORT
Sandals Negril is a smaller resort compared to the ones we have already visited. The resort is divided up into five different villages: Crystal Lagoon beachfronT Village, Honeymoon Beachfront Village, Paradise Beachfront Village, Caribbean Beachfront Village, and the Millionaire Suites. We stayed at the Paradise Beachfront Village. Our balcony was overlooking the beach, and it made us feel as if we were right on the beach. The views were stunning, not to mention the sunsets. Negril is located on the west coast of Jamaica and is known for its 7-mile beach, so imagine the long walks you can take.
SANDALS RESORT POOL
This resort has four different pools, and the largest one is located by the lobby, and of course, it had the famous swim-up bar.
THE BEACH & WATERSPORTS
The beach at Negril is one of the best ones I have ever been to. It is endless as it is seven miles long, and it is very clean as well as the water being so clear. The beach is public so you will see beach vendors. A simple “No Thank you” and they will pass by you.
The Sandals waiters come and take your drink order all day long so you do not have to worry about getting dehydrated. You have the opportunity to try the drink of the day each day as they change, as well as ordering regular water as well.
There are plenty of watersports included at all the Sandals resorts. At Negril, both the snorkeling boat as well as the scuba boat leaves twice a day. There are Hobie cats, paddleboards, water skiing, and kayaks. We had a blast and tried everything during our short stay at Sandals Negril.
SANDALS RESORT FOOD & DRINKS
This resort has 8 different restaurants and 5 bars, and I think a few of them are new and have opened since we were there in 2017. The resort was not crowded when we were there, so we managed to go to all the rerstaurants we wanted to.
BAYSIDE
This is one of Sandals flagship restaurants. They offer a buffet for breakfast and lunch and then in the evning this particular one changes to a la carte with a flair of a French Brasserie. The food is excellent, and in fact you can even get multiple lobster tails.
CUCINA ROMANA
This Italian restaurant is located on the beach, and you will sit outdoors on a wrap around patio. It is one of the few restaurants where you need to make a reservatio. If you wish to eat here, therefore you may need to do some planning.
SUNDOWNER
The Caribbean restaurant offers very good food from Jamaicaas well as from the neighboring islands. Back then, I do not recall that we had to make reservations, but this is what you need to do at this time.
BAREFOOT BY THE SEA – A SANDALS RESORT EXCLUSIVE
This is always one of our favorite places to eat at. Sitting on the beach, digging your feet into the sand, while listening to the waves. What else can you wish for? In other words, this is what being in the Caribbean is all about.

RICKS’ CAFE’
If you would like to do somehting fun, you will need to visit Rick’s cafe’, a true institution of this area. This is truly the place to watch the amazing sunset while having a cocktail. You can also watch people taking the plunge and jumlpin into the sparkling Caribbean water. Definately a bucket list item.
YS FALLS EXPERIENCE
YS Falls is an amazing natural experience, a shhort bus ride away from Negril. It was basically an amazing nature walk in a cool creek with multiple waterffalalls with experienced guides. Refreshing as could be. Make sure you bring water shoes.
ZIP LINING
One of the fun thrills in life is to go ziplining, and we had the opportunity to do this whiel in Negril as well.
TUBING & BAMBOO RIVER RAFTING
We had the opportunity to spend some time on the river. The first part was tubing in a group. It was so relaxing andfun just floating down the river. Later the same day we did the bamboo river rafting. This is my favorite part. It was an amazing experience.
SANDALS RESORT – THE AMAZING SUNSET
I have one word for the sunset at Negril, and that is Amazing. It cannot be described and has to be experienced, You can get stunning photos, so why not book a photo session with the resort? We walked down the beach every evening to enjoy Mother Natures’ art.
